Arrowfield Stud's young Redoute's Choice sire Not a Single Doubt has
produced his first winner when Regal Flame won by seven lengths on debut at Wanganui in New Zealand on Saturday.
Regal Flame had shown plenty in his trials and punters sent him out as favourite in the
juvenile event over 800 metres and the Mark Walker trained colt gave nothing else a chance jumping straight to the
front to win well in a quick time of 46.31 seconds on a slow track.
Purchased by David Ellis for $45,000 from the draft of Wentwood Grange at the NZB Select Yearling Sale, Regal Flame is the first foal of the Grand Lodge
mare
Marina Miss who in turn is out of the Pompeii Court mare Concert Star, a winner of 12 races and a half-sister to the stakes winners Solo Show (by
Dahar) and Clout (by Justice Prevails).
Not A Single Doubt was raced by Arrowfield and various other syndicates after Graeme Rogerson gave $210,000 for him at the 2003 Gold Coast Magic Millions. He is from the first crop of Arrowfield Stud's wonderful Danehill son Redoute's Choice from Singles Bar (by Rory's Jester), a daughter of Easy Date. Singles Bar is a winner and stakes placed from just four starts at two, and, is the dam of five winners including Not A Single Doubt and stakes placed Hanky Panky (Anabaa), who in turn is the dam of Fun In Flight; Natural is My Name
(Naturalis), dam of Golden Slipper runner-up Zizou (Fusaichi Pegasus).
Not A Single Doubt was a winner of four races and twice runner-up in 10 starts, his career began in spectacular fashion when he cruised to a five length win over subsequent group one winner, Econsul (by Pins) over 1100m at Rosehill in 1:04.31. He won the Strawberry Hill Slipper (1000m) at Wyong, in track record time of 56.21, and won the Listed Canonbury Stakes (1000m) by two-and-a-half lengths as a juvenile. So it's not surprising to see his progeny have some of his early speed.
Not A Single Doubt stands his fourth season at Arrowfield Stud where his fee is listed at $13,750.00 (inc gst).
