While, Show A Heart's barn-mate, Falvelon
stole all of the headlines after last weekends racing, Show A Heart
registered a pretty impressive set of results himself this weekend, when Rightfully Yours
won on the final day of the Victoria Racing Club's carnival
and his daughter Mimi Lebrock chalked up another Group
One placing when she took on the older horses in the Emirates
Stakes over a mile.
Mimi Lebrock (ex God Love It by St. Covet) is
an outstanding Group 2 winning mare and after a torrid run in the Group I Myer
Classic, a week earlier when she finished third behind the Golden Slipper winner
Forensics on Derby day, she backed up on Saturday against the all-comers
and again Mimi Lebrock showed her class when third in the million dollar event
behind the progressive five-year-old gelding, All Silent (Belong to Me -
Lisheenowen by Semipalatinsk).
In the last race of
Flemington card, Rightfully Yours made it a one act play taking a nice trail
behind Skiddaw Peak and Falasie in the 1400m Handicap. Inside the 350m the
race was all over as Rightfully Yours (ex Academy of Dreams by Royal Academy)
found plenty to hold off Count To Zero (Danzero - Crazy Grace) by a length.
Rightfully Yours has now won seven of his 13
career starts and the earnings from the $100,000 event will ensure he will gain
a start in any of the valuable black type events in Western Australia that his
trainer Mick Price aims him at during the summer months.
Show A Heart stands at Glenlogan Park Stud this
spring for a fee of $33,000 (inc gst).
October 19th, 2008
It was Caulfield Cup day in Victoria on
Saturday and one of the main races on the undercard was the Group 2
Tristarc Stakes which was taken out by Show A Heart's bonny
daughter Mimi Lebrock when she posted her second feature win
for the spring.
Trainer Bart Cummings tried her in blinkers for
the first time after she was reluctant to stretch out with horses around her at
Flemington last start, when she suffered horrid interference, and the gear
change allowed her to take her earnings above $1 million.
Ridden by Michael Rodd, who kept her away from
the rail back worse than mid-field, as Fashion Street and Gamble Me set a very
fast tempo. Mimi Lebrock had a nice trail three back and as they
cornered, Joyeuse got the spilt to go after Fashion Street as Gamble Me
struggled. Mimi Lebrock closed quickly and drew away
to win by a widening length-and-a-quarter from Tan Tat de Lago
(Encosta de Lago - Tan Tat Star by Umatilla), who ran on well from well back,
with Absolutelyfabulous (Langfuhr -Joker's Girl by Rory's
Jester) another neck away in third.
Mimi Lebrock has now won five
of her 14 starts.
Last month she won the Group 3 Let's Elope Stakes (1400m) at
Flemington and she will return there for the Group 1 Myer
Classic (1600m) for fillies and mares on November 1.
Mimi Lebrock is Show A
Heart’s leading earner and got his stud career off to the best
possible start when she won the Magic Millions 2yo Classic. She was
purchased by owner Les Smith for $170,000 at the 2006 Conrad Jupiters Magic
Millions Yearling Sale and is the first foal of the St Covet mare God Love It.
Three races earlier, Show A Heart's
son Heart Of Dreams enjoyed the run of the race in the Listed
Gothic Stakes (1400m) to chalk up his first stakes win at only his fourth career
start.
Trained on course by Mick Price and ridden by
his stable jockey Craig Newitt, Heart of Dreams got the spilt
at the top of the straight and proved too good for Drumbeats
(Redoute's Choice - Delicate Choice by Last Tyccon) and Caymans
(Secret Savings - Easy Out by Anabaa).
The win by Heart of Dreams
gave his sire Show a Heart his seventh overall black-type
winner and the first leg of his stakes double at Caulfield.
Price may now set him for the Carbine Club
Stakes or the Sandown Guineas, he had broken his maiden at his second career
start at Kilmore on September 16 and then he showed his class to finish an
unlucky second to Tindal at Flemington in a Listed event on
October 8.
Heart Of Dreams moves his record to two wins and a second from
4 starts for earnings of $98,210.
A homebred, Heart Of Dreams is a year younger brother to the
promising Rightfully Yours a $55,000 purchase by Price from the 2006 Inglis
Classic sale and has more than paid his way with six wins from
12 starts.
Their dam Academy Dreams (by Royal Academy),
started five times and failed to win a race in her career on the track.
Her dam Dream About It (by Godswalk) was a Listed
winner and half-sister to the Group I Goodwood Handicap winner,
French Clock (by Rancho Ruler) and the Listed winner,
Ladybird Blue (by Bluebird).

During the week, Show A Heart registered his very first winner in Hong Kong. The horse, Heartline, was making his debut in a Class 3 event over 1200m at Sha Tin and so competitive the market place is it's exceptionally rare to see a horse win on debut in Hong Kong – especially in the mid range class level that Heartline was thrown into.
However the flashy chestnut 3YO, who is almost an exact replica of his sire, prevailed in a tight finish to signal a very bright future was in store for the gelding.
Purchased from New Zealand after registering a slashing four length victory as a juvenile back in March of this year, Heartline is prepared by Tony Cruz.
The win opens up the Hong Kong market to the progeny of Show A Heart adding another dimension to his appeal to breeders this spring.

SHOW A HEART’S star sprinting mare Mimi Lebrock returned to the winners stall at Flemington on Saturday when she took out the Group 3 Let's Elope Stakes (registered name: Milady Stakes) in impressive fashion.
Mimi Lebrock had given her all when resuming at Caulfield two weeks earlier in the strong
Group 3 Cockram Stakes when she had drawn off the track. However, Michael Rodd made the most of her good draw of five in the full field and she overhauled Bellini Rose (Faltaat - Raise the Play by Defensive Play) just metres from the line to claim her fourth career victory by a short head, with one-and-three-quarters of a length back to the short priced favourite Devil Moon (King Cugat - Classy Babe by Masterclass) in third place.
Saturday's victory ended a run of bad luck for
Mimi Lebrock, and her trainer Bart Cummings, was delighted with the way she responded when ridden off the pace and came with a late run.
Cummings told TVN's Bruce Clark that he will aim her towards the group one mile events the Toorak Handicap at Caulfield on October 11, the Myer Classic at Flemington on November 1 and the Emirates Stakes at the same course on November 8 as her spring goals.
"She's a miler. There's a race worth a million dollars and that would be a good race to win and there are a few more along the way to it that she might go well in," Cummings said.
Mimi Lebrock went through the 2006 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling sale where she was knocked down to Les Smith for $170,000 and has since repaid him in full with earnings of more than $900,000.
She is Show A Heart's first stakes winner this season and is out of God Love It (by St Covet), a maiden winner who was also sold out of Magic Millions Gold Coast yearling sale in 2000 for $90,000,
and is her only foal to have raced while her dam Lyphard's Lady (by Lyphard) a stakes placed American mare was sold at the Magic Millions Glenlogan Park Classic Sale to Skywood Park Thoroughbreds for just $1,000 in 2001.
Show A Heart (Brave Warrior ex Miss Sandman by Regal Advice) has been well supported since retiring to stud in 2002 covering more than 100 mares at each of his six seasons at stud and despite the stand still with the outbreak of equine influenza last spring he was able to cover 169 mares at a fee of $27,500. An attractive 16.1hh chestnut he stands at Glenlogan Park Stud in Queensland and this spring where his fee has risen to $33,000 (inc gst).

A big day for Queensland based stallion Show
A Heart when his talented Magic Millions winner Mimi Lebrock resumed from
her enforced equine influenza spell to beat the older mares in the Listed
Sheraco Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill on Saturday.
Trained by Bart Cummings, Mimi Lebrock had been
given two barrier trials before taking on the stakes event in heavy conditions
and she had to much class for the five year-old Vegas Showgirl (Al Akbar - Vegas
Magic by Voodoo Rhythm) to win by a length-and-a-quarter. Shirl Pegasus
(Fusaichi pegasus - Night Rule by Shirley Heights) was another
length-and-three-quarters away in third.
Mimi Lebrock is the first foal of the St Covet mare God Love It, a half-sister to US Group Three winner
Lord Sreva
(by Vaguely Noble) and has now won
three races and placed second twice with her prizemoney climbing past
$700,000.
“Her father could handle the wet so I was confident she’d get through it and from here she’s a good chance in all the fillies classics now,”
Cummings told TVN.
He also indicated Mimi Lebrock that he felt
that Mimi Lebrock would have no worries getting a mile.
A big bay filly, Mimi Lebrock as bought by owner Les Smith for $170,000 from the draft of Glenlogan Park Stud at the 2006 Magic Millions Yearling Sale.
Show a Heart also unearthed another juvenile winner at Doomben on Saturday with the Bryan Guy trained colt Jazz Heart scoring by nearly three lengths at his second race start.
In doing so he's booked himself a a berth in next month's $1.5 million Magic Millions Classic.
Jazz Heart (ex Bluedanu by Danzero), was ridden by Glen Colless, came from last after missing the start
to down Tuscon Rain (Conatus - Crying in the Rain by Sanction) by 2-3/4 lengths in the Nilsen Hcp (1200m).
The colt had been trounced by 14 lengths at his race debut when eighth to High Roll'N Woman
at Eagle Farm on Australia Day.
The addition of blinkers to his gear by Guy and
Jazz Heart collected his first cheque for his owner.
Mimi Lebrock is one of four stakes-winners sired by Glenlogan Park Stud’s
Show a Heart who will have four yearlings on offer at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale and 31 for the Magic Millions on the Gold Coast.
December 30th, 2007
In Queensland on Saturday, popular jockey Jim
Cassidy was having his first race ride since he suffered serious injuries in a
fall at Eagle Farm in June. He rode Chilled in the Equipment Funding Plate
(1100m) and unfortunately for Cassidy his mount the race favourite Chilled was
unable to give him a welcome back present when the Kevin O'Brien owned filly,
Saratoga upset the party.
Chilled jumped awkwardly and raced greenly for the first 600m, forcing Cassidy to work
on the colt a long way from home with the lack of race experience showing.
On the other hand the Ron Maund trained Saratoga was having her third start and
she race kindly and true as she did everything right and scored a sold victory
by a length from Que (Pure Theatre - Simply Flawless by Pricelessly) with
Chilled (Redoute's choice - Lady Mulroy by Encosta de Lago) in third another
nose away.
Maund will now set Saratoga for a start in the Magic Millions
Classic, she was purchase by her owners in the fifth session of this year's
Magic Millions Gold Coast yearling sale for $90,000. She was originally
purchased by Slade Bloodstock Victoria at the 2006 Magic Millions Gold Coast
National Weanling Sale in 2006 for $16,000.00. Giving both parties a nice
return.
Saratoga is out of the Mister Kwila mare Peppen
Bay, a winner of two races and a sister to the stakes placed Banyan Bay.

At Sandown on Saturday, Show A Heart's son
Gotta Have Heart claimed his most important career win when he took out the
Group 3 Sandown Stakes (1400m) with an all-the-way effort.
Ridden by Steve Baster, the four-year-old brown gelding jumped away from barrier nine in the 12-strong field and within a number of strides Baster had no trouble getting to the lead and then took his rivals along at a good tempo ahead of Royal Idea, with the field stringing out a little midrace. Gotta Have Heart still had a nice break at the 300m, although Royal ida tried very hard, he just found it beyond him with his big weight and Gotta Have Heart scored by one-and-a-quarter lengths.
Great Is Great finished nicely for third without ever looking a winning chance and after two runs from a long break he looks ready to win soon.
Trained at Caulfield by Mick Price, Gotta Have Heart capped the day off in great style for Price as he had just notched up a feature race double having taken out the Sandown Guineas with Schilling, while another member of his team Jukebox Johnny, ran the race of his life to finish runner-up to Zipping in the Sandown Classic.
Baster, summed the tempo of the race off very well and he didn't give any of the back markers a hope in winning, giving Gotta Have Heart out a gun run. After finding the front he gave the four-year-old a mid race breather and put his foot down again on straightening and the result was never in doubt.
“He probably rated himself for me, he pricked his ears in front and relaxed nicely,” Baster said.
“That was the important part of the race I think and it gave him something to kick home with.
”He’s obviously a pretty smart horse.”
A lightly raced four-year-old due to a career plagued by knee problems, Gotta Have Heart
is building an imposing record with six wins from 11 starts with his career earnings now totalling $167,950.
“He’s always been a nice horse, he was a $200,000 yearling and he’s had a really good prep, come through his grades,” Price said.
“We’ll probably put him out now and look for a nice race in the autumn.”
Gotta Have Heart is out of the unraced Centaine mare, Red Century and he is her second stakes winner the other is
Crossyourheart a full sister to Gotta Have Heart.
Red Century is a half-sister to the STC Darby Munro Stakes placegetter, Regal Thrills (by Royal Academy).
Show A Heart has made a great start to his new career with 12 stakes horses to his credit,
four stakes winners and eight stakes placegetters with earnings of more than $3.5million. He stands in Queensland at
Glenlogan Park Stud for $27,500.00 (inc gst).

SHOW A HEART continued his winning ways at Ipswich on Saturday when
his three-year-old son, Showify, rounded up his opposition up and beat them
easily in the Cadbury Schweppes T L Cooney Hcp (1350m).
Showify (ex Mary Something by Danzero) has won his last three starts and has
continued to improve with each outing. On Saturday he was parked mid-field
with cover behind a hot tempo and his rider John Powell got him out into clear
galloping room at about 700m from home and Showify circled the field to win
easily.
Showify will now head towards the $100,000 Listed Sunshine Coast Guineas (1600m) in a fortnight.
Show a Heart has had a great run with his runners, on Wednesday, he had
another two year-old filly, Rosekay Heart (ex Nellie de Air by Air de France),
win the opening event at Doomben in fine style.
Rosekay Heart was bred by Alan Chappell, and she was sold at the 2006 Gold Coast Magic Millions for $66,000 and is
bred to get over ground at three. Her dam won up to a mile on the Sunshine Coast
and she is related to champion weight-for-age star Vo Rogue.
The second two-year-old winner for the week for Show A Heart was in the form of the very impressive Pubz who demolished
a juvenile field at Townsville over the 1200m by four lengths on Friday afternoon.
Show A Heart now has 11 winners from his 20 juvenile starters this season.
June 10th, 2007.
SHOW A HEART added yet another stakes horse to his ever growing list of achievements last Saturday when Lady
Showheart charged to the line to finish runner up in the Listed Sir Douglas
Wadley Plate.
Trainer Kevin Kemp has always held an enormous opinion of his juvenile and is positive she will develop into a really special
horse in the upcoming years.
“This filly has shown plenty right from the word go,” Kemp said. “I have no question
that we will be back here in 12 months time competing in all the Group races for 3yo’s and I am really excited
about where I think she can take us.
Everything she is doing now, she is doing on raw ability alone. Once she is given a
bit more time to strengthen and mature I think we are going to see a very, very good
racehorse!”
Visiting jockey Steven King was also very impressed.
“Gee, hasn’t this thing got some ability,” King said upon dismounting.
“That was a super run and if they had of applied a bit more pressure to the leader
during the middle stages I am sure we could have really made a race of it at the
end. She is definitely a filly going places.”
Kemp will now probably head Lady Showheart towards the Listed Australia Post Stakes at Eagle Farm over 1400m in a
few weeks time. She is the third member of Show A Heart’s latest crop of two
year-olds to have her name stamped in blacktype.
The others are Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Mimi Lebrock and Champion New Zealand juvenile
Crossyourheart.

SHOW A HEART’S improving 3yo gelding Thorondo staged a herculian performance at
the Gold Coast last weekend to literally blow his opposition away, and in the process left
most at the course gasping in disbelief.
Shunted back behind a wall of horses coming to the turn and with seemingly nowhere to
go, Thorondo was at least 12 lengths off the leaders when he finally gained clear galloping
room, but unfortunately for favourite backers, had less than 250m to make up the difference.
However the son of Show A Heart then unleashed a finishing burst that almost had to
be seen to be believed as he charged down the outside to swamp his rivals in a blistering
final sectional.
This phenomenal performance has left trainer Pat Duff with little option other than to throw
him into the deep end, and he has accepted for the Listed Conrad Treasury Brisbane Plate
at Eagle Farm this Saturday. The Pat Duff team have enjoyed a tremendous winning run
in recently and although he admits it is a huge leap up from his last start, Pat is confident that
Thorondo has the ability at this level.
“There’s absolutely no question he’s up to the quality of Saturday’s race,” Duff said this week.
“However, whether or not he can do it this weekend after the quick 7 day backup and
being so poorly weighted by comparison to some of his other more experienced rivals is
only a question that time can answer. He’s going to win a really good race one day, the
only query is whether it will be now or next preparation.”
Thorondo (ex Total Whisper by Total Look) will be up against big guns Danleigh, Prince Leo and interstate raiders Snort, O’Crickey and Splashing Out. Regular
jockey Ken Pope has been engaged for the ride.
“He’s thriving on racing,” Pat added.
“He’s a tough individual – just like Show A Heart. Ken (Pope) says that every time he has ridden the horse he has improved three lengths. Let’s
hope he improves another three for Saturday.”
GERALD RYAN is just one of a number of high profile trainers who has a very big opinion
of the Show A Hearts – and he should know as he has got plenty of them!
Last weekend saw his promising 2yo colt Our Magic planted 7 and 8 wide for almost the
entire race at the Coast, yet despite this he still managed to finish close up behind the
placegetters. Gerald still has his sights set firmly on the Listed Australia Post at Eagle
Farm and now only needs to place him accordingly in the lead-up to ensure he gains
a start. He has pulled up well from last week’s torrid run and continues to please the stable.
Another Show A Heart bringing smiles to the faces of the Ryan camp is the Sydney based
3yo gelding Joello. Due to have his fourth run in this preparation, Joello is a great example
of the versatility his sire possesses as he is sure to prove very competitive over the tough
2000m of the Rosehill track.
Joello (ex Aurillac by Marauding) starts in the Guildford Leagues Club Hcp on Saturday and trainer Gerald Ryan believes he’s a really good each-way
chance given even luck in running.
“He won over a mile at Warwick Farm two starts back and then put up a great performance
when he was a sitting shot for the backmarkers over 1800m at Rosehill a fortnight
ago,” Ryan said. “He meets the winner much better at the weights and has definitely
improved since his last start. He is a joy to have around the stables and I think he will run
very, very well.”
MAIN VEIN will be a Show A Heart looking to make it three wins from his last three starts
when he lines up this weekend. He has accepted for both the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast, however, he will probably go
around in the North Coast Equine Vet Service Stakes (1200m) on Sunday.
“It all depends on the weather,” owner Hoss Heinrich said this week. “We’ve really got a bit
of an opinion of Main Vein and will probably only give him one more start before putting
him out and getting him ready for a trip to Melbourne during the spring carnival.”
The Heinrichs have a great record when travelling to the southern states with feature winners
like All Bar One (JRA Plate) at Caulfield and Public Opinion (VRC Inglis Premier) at
Flemington being just a couple. Main Vein (3g Show A Heart - Masaafaat by Woodman) is a horse that many good form
judges are predicting is capable of going right to the top and his progress over the next 6
months is assured of being closely monitored.
The Heinrichs also have a year younger full brother to Main Vein and although he hasn’t faced the starter yet they are reasonably confident
that he may prove even better. “He is not too far away from trialling.” Hoss said, “but the last time we had him in, we put him up against
some pretty good older horses and he handled them easily, despite only being a 2yo.”
BARRY MILLER is another trainer who is confident his Show A Heart brothers Stolit and Cardio will keep winning in June.
Stolit (3c Show A Heart - Regal Fair by Archregent) pulled up 100% after finishing out of the money behind Cocktail Supreme last
Saturday and Barry suggests we can just rule a line through the run. He was caught wide
and then eased up over the final stages and the run wasn’t much more than a solid hit-out
in the end as he was given no chance of competing. He has been entered for a 3YO event on Stradbroke Handicap day over 1200m and
Barry is anticipating we will see the real Stolit on that day.
Cardio is the year younger brother, and he won like a very good horse at his one and only
start to date at the Sunshine Coast on May 13. This week he has accepted for the Contract
Hydraulics Hcp (1000m) at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday.
“He sat three wide the whole way facing the breeze and had every right to lie down in the
straight,” Miller said. “But instead he actually charged away from them in the end and the
jockey never moved on him. Michael Cahill said he didn’t really ask him to do anything
and we expect there to be even more improvement in him this Sunday.”
Cardio beat another Show A Heart youngster into 2nd that day in the form of Classic
Heart and Australia’s Champion First Season Sire of last year has the chance to quinella
Sunday’s race again as the debutant Rosekay Heart lines up for Bruce McLachlan.
SHOW A HEART added three more wins to his ever-growing tally last weekend when 3yos
Thorondo and Showify maintained their winning strike-rates, whilst 2yo filly Lady
Showheart opened her account in fine style at just her second run in this preparation.
Showify (ex Mary Something by Danzero) improved again when he won on a heavy track at the Sunshine Coast last Sunday over the mile. “I think he will
relish the extra room at Caloundra,” his trainer Stephen Lowe predicted in last week’s
newsletter. “And now he’s right on course for the $100,000 Sunshine Coast Guineas on
June 30.”
Jockey John Powell had Showify under a stranglehold last Sunday and the gelding won
with plenty in reserve whilst Lady Showheart displayed a clean pair of heels to her rivals
when she led from barrier to box and never looked in doubt.
June 7 2002.
It was a great tragedy when Brave Warrior died from the result of a
paddock accident after just two seasons at stud. But what a magnificent legacy
he has left us with the G1 Stradbroke Handicap winner Show a Heart.
The gallant Barry Miller trained colt reversed the G1 Doomben 10000
decision with his old adversary Falvelon to win his fourth Group One
race in a stellar racetrack career. The next time Show A Heart and Falvelon
meet will be over a paddock fence at Glenlogan Park where Show A Heart
will now retire, to be joined next season by Falvelon.
Starting from barrier 22, Show A Heart’s
rider Danny Nikolic elected to give the chestnut plenty of time to find his
feet. Coming to the home turn he had only last years Stradbroke Handicap winner
Crawl behind him. Nikolic weaved a course through the field to stage a thrilling
duel with Falvelon, whose jockey Damien Oliver had further back in the
field than his custom. On the line Show A Heart had a half-neck advantage
over Falvelon with Kingsgate a further three-quarters of a length
away third. He becomes the first Queensland trained winner of the Stradbroke
since the Bill Calder-trained Dancing Poet won the race in 1987.
Show A Heart retires to stud as the winner of 6 races from 33 starts with
9 seconds and one third for earnings of $2,279,000. His previous Group One
victories came in the T. J. Smith Stakes at Eagle Farm as a 2yo, the Caulfield
Guineas after the first past the post Skalato was subsequently disqualified for
returning a positive swab to Ketoprosen, and the Toorak Handicap at Caulfield.
"I'm looking forward to him going to stud," said the champion’s
trainer Barry Miller who has three shares in the stallion. The Stradbroke
victory has forced Glenlogan Park principal Jon Haseler to restrict Show
A Heart’s stud bookings to applications only. "He's already got about
90 bookings and we only want 120 in his first year so future bookings will have
to be made by application," Haseler said.
Show A Heart comes from the first crop of the tragic Brave Warrior whose
death in April 1998 after only two seasons at Eureka Stud was a blow to the
Queensland and Australian breeding industries. The dam of Show A Heart is
the stakes placed Regal Advice mare Miss Sandman the winner of 12
races and over $178,000.
Miss Sandman is a direct descendent of the English 1000 Guineas winner Cinna,
a mare who has had a profound influence on the breed in Australasia.
The third dam of Miss Sandman is the 1962 AJC Doncaster H. winner Te Poi,
the dam of Adelaide Cup, Feehan Stakes, and Moonee Valley Stakes winner Grand
Scale (Gigantic). Te Poi is a daughter of Celebrity herself a
daughter of Cinna whose sons Balloch and Beau Pere proved
such influential stallions in Australasia. Beau Pere was sold to America
and proved a leading stallion in that country.
Besides Te Poi, Celebrity was also the dam of Illustrious the third dam of
champion New Zealand racehorse and sire Vice Regal (Bismark).
Cinna was a remarkably prolific mare and one of her daughters Belle
Mere (Son In Law) also had a dramatic influence on the breed. Four of her
daughters, Star Of Persia, Phedre, Sugar Kandy and Marcellina
continue to consistently appear in the pedigrees of Group One winners.
Star Of Persia is the 5th dam of
Salinger Stakes (G1) winner Notoire. Phedre is the fourth dam of
NZ 2000 Guineas (G1) winner (My) Sir Avon. Sugar Kandy is the dam
of the remarkable full sisters Sweet Spray and Sweet Nymph, both
winners of the New Zealand Oaks and Great Northern Derby. Sweet Spray is
the dam of WRC Telegraph H. and WRC New Zealand St. Leger Stakes winner Hot
Drop, while Sweet Nymph features as the 3rd dam of Melbourne Cup
winner Gold And Black and the 4th dam of W.S Cox Plate winner Dulcify.
However it is Belle Mere’s daughter Marcellina who has had the
most dramatic influence on the breed. She is immortalized as the 5th dam of the
U.S Horse Of The Year Sunday Silence, perennially the leading Japanese
sire and fast spreading his influence through the thoroughbred world.
