With fourteen yearlings catalogued for the Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale in 2021, Vinery Stud will present one of the hottest pedigrees of the sale in Lot 287. By boom sire I Am Invincible, this yearling colt is the first foal of Gr1 New Zealand One Thousand Guineas winner Risque (Darci Brahma), and it is not often that colts out of classic winners go to auction.
“The I Am Invincible – Risque colt is a very attractive colt and a real running sort of horse. His sire needs little introduction and his mother was a first class racemare out of New Zealand. We have had terrific results in Melbourne and we were quite keen to have a top notch horse on pedigree and physique to headline the draft and he is it. I think he will generate a lot of interest from a wide range of buyers. We have a nice mixture through the draft including some nice all Too Hard yearlings. He continues to demonstrate what a value stallion he amongst the ranks and these youngsters will be well sought after,” said Vinery’s Adam White.
Vinery Stud have put their full backing behind their new sire, Star Turn, and he’s already delivered with first crop runner Astrologer running third behind Shaquero on debut in the Gr.3 ATC Breeders’ Plate, while both Miss Hipstar and Pegasi are winners, and we are only at the half-way point of Star Turn’s first season of runners. One of the best mares at Vinery Stud must surely be dual Gr.1 winner Sacred Choice, and her Star Turn colt is Lot 301 at this sale. Both her first two foals to race are already winners, and she’s from the family of Gr.1 Golden Slipper winner Marauding. With Shaquero from his first crop, the progeny of Shalaa will be sought after, and Vinery will present Lot 428, a Shalaa colt who is the first foal of his winning dam. This is the famed Procrastinate family, and his dam is out of a three quarter sister to recent stakes winner Villami.
